Snow Day Joys

Finally a real snow day with snow of more than one inch--actually 5 inches. We were hoping hard that the predictions would materialize because after all, we've still got two snow days in our pocket. Well, now there's only one left, and it's unlikely to be used. Morning didn't disappoint us though. It was a white world and a sabbatical day stretching ahead.

"Doo, doo, doo looking out my back door."

Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening
by Robert Frost

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.
He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

See, boys? This is what you do when it snows.

In a cottage in the wood. . .

(Please note relatively clean sidewalk and stairs)
The "holly" part of the holly and the ivy. . .

International Night at school allowed me to break out my custom made Indian tunic, pants, and scarf.
